Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ
1 / What makes Momentum Parenting different?
We love this question! There are many options for online workshops and coaching, but we think we're quite different. Here's why:
-
All course content is led by licensed psychologists who specialize in child behavior and parent training.
-
Techniques you learn in this course are evidence-based and rooted in peer-reviewed research.
-
Courses were designed by university professors. We create and teach graduate-level courses, so we know how to structure lessons that stick.
-
Our courses span the developmental stages of your child-- from 1-18 years old (and likely beyond).
-
We have options for everyone! If you're just looking for some tips and tricks for general childhood concerns, or for more detailed information based the developmental stage of your child-- we have a course for that.
-
Our parent training groups directly mirror course content but allow for community building and individualized guidance.
2 / How is the course laid out?
Each course varies in the number of modules, but each module has a particular theme. Within each module, you will learn from readings, pre-recorded discussions, and examples, and activities.
3 / How long do the courses take to complete?
The courses are self-paced, so you can take your time or binge the whole series.
4 / How long will I have access to the course?
When you purchase the courses, you get 12 months access to course content through Kajabi.

If you enroll in one of our group parent training programs, you get 24 months access to course content through Kajabi.
5 / What is the difference between the course and group parent training?
The courses are self-led and packed with parent educational content and strategies. Each course comes with a corresponding workbook to work through during the course.

Group parent training includes everything that comes with the courses, with the addition of live weekly sessions with a professional to discuss the module associated with that week, answer questions, provide support, and build community.
6 / How do I know if this course is right for my parenting style?
Great question! Our courses teach strategies that are backed by peer-reviewed literature. We add these strategies to supportive, nurturing parent-child communication methods.

Looking at the chart below, our strategies tend to fall within the collaborative type of parenting style, combining firm boundaries with support and communication with your child:

If you feel like you fall within one of the other parenting styles, it doesn't mean you won't benefit from our courses and coaching! The strategies we teach are effective for all types of parents and children. However, you may choose to modify your communication style to fit what works best for your family.
7 / Do you offer individual family sessions?
Yes! We offer individual parent training sessions. The process is a bit different, so send us a message at info@momentumparening.com if this is something you would like more information about.
